The Mission of the Adult Recovery Network is to identify common areas of concern among consumers and family advocates. With these common concerns as a base, the Adult Recovery Network (ARN)is to generate recommendations that can help transform the mental health system so that it becomes more consumer and family driven and recovery focused, as described in the President's New Freedom Commission Report. The Vision of the Adult Recovery Network is to change the focus of the mental health system in Ohio to one that has Recovery as its base for all treatments and services. As a group, the Adult Recovery Network embraces the following Values: compassion; consumer and family driven services; destigmatization; dignity; diversity of approaches including multi-cultural competency; education; empowerment; hope; individualized, person-centered services; love; mutual respect; personal responsibility, and spirituality.

                           

Building Better Tomorrows: Recovering from Mental Illness, is available in booklet form, and can also be accessed as a pdf on this website under "Recovery Curriculum." The publication is a joint effort of the Ohio Department of Mental Health, The Adult Recovery Network (administered by the Mental Health Association of Summit County), and the Irwin Foundation.
